The opportunity of trekking to a high altitude glacial lake is something which every hiker looks forward to. Most of the high altitude lakes normally require multiple days of hiking before you can finally cherish the view of the lake. But here we have Bhrighu lake which is just two days hike away from Manali.
Bhrigu Lake is a frozen lake located at an elevation of around 4,300 metres (14,100 ft) in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh, India.
Meet you guide at 10:00AM at Kolang Village situated 08 Kms from Manali on Manali Solang Highway and start a trek to Kolang Nallah – Base Camp of Bhrigu Lake. We will reach Kolang Nallah after 06 Hours of Trek. Carry sufficient water in your bottle as there are very limited/No source (depending on the season) of water before Kolang Nallah. There is a makeshift wooden bridge on this Nallah for most of months. After crossing the Nallah the camping site is another 1.5-2 hours hike away. Mori Thatch is a scenic campsite covered from 3 sides with mountains which gives excellent protection from winds. It is an ideal camping spot where the water source is flowing across the camping ground.
Starting with today’s trek, the first half will be a steep ascend till you reach the lake; on the course of your journey, you will be passing through snowy patches and scenic forests. Arriving at the lake, grab in the panoramic views of the surroundings and witness the celestial beauty of the lake. We will carry packed lunch and have it by the lake side. As camping is not allowed near the lake, you will be descending down to the Mori Thatch campsite for an overnight stay.

On the last day of your trek, you will trekking through picturesque pine forests and make your way to a village called Vashisht. Arriving in the hamlet, visit its natural hot water springs and take a rejuvenating bath in the hot waters. Trek ends here. 4-5 hrs
