- Visit The Buddhist monasteries: Tsuglagkhang Complex is the official home of his holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. It is the largest Tibetan Monastery and pilgrimage site outside Tibet. So it should be in your main bucket list to visit this place. You can also visit Namgyal Monastery and Gyuto Monastery. Namgyal Monastery was established by the 3rd Dalai Lama in 1575 and later relocated to Dharamshala. On the other hand, Gyuto Monastery was founded by Jetsun Kunga Dhondup, a disciple of the first Dalai Lama in 1475 and it is run by Gyuto order. Gyoto Monks are known for their traditional overtone singing. Wheather, you are from other religions or an atheist, I bet you will experience a peaceful vibe when you visit the Monasteries.
