Although we had the raincoats, we were still wet as those raincoats didn’t let your sweat to evaporate, and there was no way our sweat would have dried up as it was raining outside, and that made us a bit uncomfortable. The big stones were quite slippery, so we had to move up slowly with a tight grip of our feet.
Finally, we reached the top of hill at 6:00 pm, and we were exhausted , so we sat down for cup of tea (as we’re all wet and feeling cold) in a tea shop, and suddenly, there was a heavy downpour and it was all hailstones all around us. It looked like snow on the lush green grassland. After that, we went to our tent, changed the clothes, had some drinks and enjoyed.
Here are some things I would like you to keep in mind while trekking during rainy season.
- Raincoat is must.
- Keep a pair of extra clothes for the next day journey, as the wet clothes would not dry up in the evening, and you might end up getting sick.
- Wear shoes with a good grip.
- Keep a crape bandage with you, as you might get your angle twisted on the slippery stones. (Especially while coming down)
- Keep some alcohol for the night. (It’s cold at the hilltop and you will need it)
- Safety’s first.
